Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026

There are plenty of reasons to visit the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting:

  • With 30,000 to 40,000 yearly visitors, the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting is the only investing event of this size globally. It is 10x to 20x larger than other events.
  • The atmosphere in Omaha is special. People are friendly and approachable during the Woodstock for Capitalists. It is easy to bump into leading investors and have a short chat.
  • Omaha has way more to offer than you think. The city has a great restaurant scene with affordable prices. The best zoo in the USA is in Omaha. The newly renovated waterfront park and the charming Old Market are gorgeous.
  • Compared to other cities in the US, Omaha is very affordable. You can have a great time for 1/4 of the budget you have to spend in New York or Los Angeles.
  • During the shareholder sale, you can get spectacular deals at the NFM in Omaha. You will rarely find such good prices outside the AGM week.

🏟️ The Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting is the largest investing event in the world. No other investing event comes close to its size.

Yes! The only barrier to entry is the ownership of a ticket. How you can get a ticket is described in this guide.

I strongly recommend staying from Wednesday to Sunday/Monday in Omaha. This allows you to enjoy more relevant events, increase your networking opportunities, and also allow you more room to discover Omaha. Please discover my recommendations in the Travel to Omaha guide.

Absolutely! I have seen several families with their young children at the Annual Meeting. The hour-long Q&A might be a challenge with young children.

However, there are many other activities for families to enjoy around the Annual Meeting. Shopping in the Exhibition Hall and Nebraska Furniture Mart can be interesting. Omaha offers many playgrounds and activities for families around the CHI Health Center. You can find more information about this in my Enjoy Omaha Guide.

Berkshire Hathaway Meeting tickets

You need Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 tickets to join Berkshire Hathaway shareholder events and to unlock discounts. On top of shareholder access, your ticket gives you discounts at the exhibition hall and at the Nebraska Furniture Mart, Borsheims, or The Bookworm (more below).

  • Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 tickets are handed out as a 3.22-inch x 4.92-inch (8.2 × 12.5 cm)-sized badge.
  • The design of the badge changes every year to fit the annual AGM design. This design change makes them a collectible item for many shareholders.
  • You can pick up a lanyard to comfortably wear the ticket badge around your neck in the CHI Health Center in Omaha.

Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 tickets are also called credentials or shareholder badges. To keep it simple, I am calling them tickets in this guide.

There are two general methods for obtaining Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2026 tickets, each with two slightly different options. Learn more about them here:

  1. Pre-order tickets (recommended): You can either pre-order tickets on eBay or via the Annual Meeting Credential Request Form. I describe the whole process of pre-ordering your tickets step by step below.
  2. Get tickets in Omaha: You can get in line at the will call at the CHI Health Center to get your tickets. To be able to receive tickets, you need a printed or digital proof of ownership. If you want to avoid the line at the will call, there is also another, unofficial method to get your ticket that is shared below.

Tickets and the attendance are free. There are minimal costs involved if you want to pre-order your ticket:

  • You have to pay a fee of $5-$25 to get up to four tickets sent to your home if you order your tickets on eBay.
  • You have to pay the costs of sending an (international) letter to Omaha if you use the Annual Meeting Credential Request Form.
  • You might have to invest 1-2 hours of your time if you decide to pick up tickets at the will call.

I highly recommend pre-ordering your tickets! It’s the easiest way to get Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2026 tickets. By doing so, you will also avoid last-minute stress and save precious time on the ground in Omaha.

Two ways to pre-order tickets exist: eBay and the Annual Meeting Credential Request Form.

The pre-ordering options are usually made available at the same time:

  • Tickets on eBay have been sold since 23. March 2026 (historically between 12. and 27. March).
  • The Annual Meeting Credential Request Form was released on 13. March 2026 (historically between March 11 and 17).

Shipping for both is expected to start at the end of March.

To be notified when tickets will be available and about other important milestones, please subscribe to my Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting newsletter:

🗓️ eBay tickets are available since March 23.

You can order two Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2026 tickets for a fee of $5 (ebay.com) or $6 (all eBay sites outside ebay.com) via the official eBay account brka_b.

  • US-based shareholders will have to wait only a few days until they get their tickets. Shipping should be free.
  • International shareholders will have to factor in shipping times and additional shipping fees. The price per ticket and shipping fees are the cheapest when ordering via ebay.com. Furthermore, timing your shipping window is important. In the worst-case scenario, it can take up to one month to get your tickets. From my experience, “real” shipping times are usually quicker. Therefore, please plan at least a two- to three-week shipping buffer before placing your order.

⚠️ Please only buy your Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 tickets from the official account, brka_b. All other offers are just resellers who overcharge.

🗓️ The Annual Meeting Credential Request Form was released on March 13.

You can request up to four Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 tickets via the Annual Meeting Credential Request Form for free. These are the steps to order your tickets:

  1. Print out the Annual Meeting Credential Request Form file and fill it out legibly.
  2. Send the filled-out Annual Meeting Credential Request Form to Berkshire Hathaway in Omaha via your postal service. If you are requesting tickets from outside the US, please add your country to the form to ensure tickets will arrive safely.
  3. One of Berkshire Hathaway’s employees will collect your data once the letter has arrived at the headquarters. Then, a letter with the tickets will be send to your home.

You do not need proof of ownership to get your tickets. Simply filling out the Annual Meeting Credential Request Form is enough.

Plan in a shipping buffer:

  • International shareholders have to plan for two to three weeks of shipping time to Omaha. The similar time frame has to be factored in for delivery. Therefore, I recommend sending out the proxy form in early April at the latest.
  • US-based shareholders can receive your tickets quicker. Nonetheless, I would recommend mailing the form as soon as possible.

By the way: If you get a physical copy of the annual report, please consider using the perforated card attached to the report to order tickets.

✍🏻 Please fill out the form clearly. Add your country if you are living outside the US. Your ticket letter might get lost if your handwriting can’t be properly identified.

Ordering tickets via eBay is the most convenient option. However, this is not the cheapest option, as you have to pay for every one of your Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2026 tickets plus additional shipping fees. This table gives you a full comparison of both pre-ordering ways:

The so-called will call gives you the option to pick up Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 tickets in Omaha. However, you might have to wait a few hours (in the rain) to get your tickets, as you can see in this news video.

Therefore, I highly recommend pre-ordering your Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 tickets ahead of your trip to Omaha. This will make your stay more enjoyable and give you time to focus on fun activities.

⌚ Try to avoid the will call by preordering tickets. This can save you hours of your time.

You can pick up your tickets on-site in the will call area in the lobby of the CHI Health Center. Picking up your ticket there is possible on:

  • Friday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (my recommended day to get tickets) and
  • Saturday from 7:00 AM to 04:00 PM.

In the will call area, you must show your photo identification and proof that you are a shareholder.

  • The photo identification can, for instance, be your passport or your driver’s license.
  • The shareholder proof can be a certificate from your broker, a printed security account statement, a screenshot, or just your broker app that shows you own a Berkshire Hathaway share.

Yes! Based on my estimate, Berkshire Hathaway sends out two to three times more tickets than actual people attend. In 2025, for instance, 138,000 tickets were sent out to shareholders, and only 40,000+ attended the 2025 annual meeting.

Statistically, every visitor has at least one extra ticket. Many visitors are willing to share this additional ticket with other shareholders. Therefore, it can make sense to ask during your flight or while you wait in line if someone has a spare ticket for you.

👋🏻 Ask other shareholders for their spare tickets instead of going to the will call. This often works out well.

There are plenty of good reasons to be a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder. I strongly recommend owning at least one BRK.B share forever for karma reasons. It is not mandatory to be a shareholder to attend the annual meeting, from my experience. It is only mandatory to have a Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 ticket. These ticekts will be controlled when you try to enter the CHI Health Center.

You don’t get invited to the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting. Instead, you simply get a ticket and show up in Omaha on AGM day. Learn more about getting tickets above.

More Information

After 60 years on the stage of the Annual Meeting, Warren Buffett is expected to sit alongside the other directors in the front row of the meeting. He publicly announced that he won’t be speaking at the Annual Meeting 2026.

Greg Abel and the other panelists can be addressed with shareholder questions. You have two options for asking a question:

❓ To maximize your chance of asking your question at the Annual Meeting hand in your question to Becky Quick as well as try your luck with the question lottery.

Berkshire Hathaway asks you for the following microphone manners to improve the chance of getting a great answer to your question:

  • State your name and hometown/country.
  • Ask your question promptly and speak loud and clear.
  • Please do not ask more than one question or attempt to “bundle” several questions together.
  • Please do not ask what we are buying or selling. Even if the information is public, we do not discuss how we arrive at our decisions. We also will not discuss politics. Any other subjects are fair game.

You can easily follow the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2026 online via CNBC’s website or CNBC’s YouTube channel. The livestream is available in English and Mandarin. It will start at 8:15 AM CT.

The live stream covers 100% of the event. But you will miss the great atmosphere in the morning and plenty of chances to network with other investors if you only watch the live stream.

The dress code is casual to smart casual. Some side events need a business outfit. For the AGM, visitors usually wear comfortable clothes that allow them to be active throughout the day. Throughout the AGM day, a lot of walking is involved. So, please also make sure to bring comfortable shoes as well.

The weather in Omaha can change quickly, and cold streaks are still possible. Make sure to bring some warmer clothes, just in case.

Most shareholders drive to get to the CHI Health Center. Uber, Lyft, and taxis will also be in high demand on Saturday morning. Therefore, it can make sense to pre-order them.

There is plenty of parking space available outside the CHI Health Center. CHI Health Center parking lots will open at 3:30am on Saturday. Surface parking is $10. The garage parking is $15 (limited availability). You can pay with cash and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). Here you can find all parking spots and additional information.

You might also have the chance to park for free within a 20-minute walking distance to the CHI Health Center at the Durham Museum’s parking area.

There are alternatives to driving to the CHI Health Center. Please learn more on how to use these alternatives below:

  • Public buses: You can use public buses that go downtown for only $1.25 per person and ride. ORBT, route 11, route 13, route 18, and route 30 should arrive downtown ahead of the start of the AGM.
  • Heartland Bike Share: A ride with Heartland Bike Share can be fun and healthy. The monthly pass is a great deal. You can also park the bike close to the CHI.
  • Shuttle buses: Berkshire Hathaway also offers shuttle buses on the AGM day. Their routes are described in the visitor’s guide.

What is allowed to bring to the CHI Health Center? Here, I try to answer frequently asked questions:

Berkshire Hathaway released a new clear bag policy to enhance safety and experience. This limits carry with items to clear bags and small clutches, purses, and wallets. Only one bag per person is allowed.

For luggage and backpack only, there are bag checks OUTSIDE the CHI Health Center.

  • Friday: You can check your bag north end of the building, close to Meca Drive.
  • Saturday: You check your back at the north end of the building, close to Meca Drive and near the Plaza level entrance on the South end.

🎒 Leave your backpack and larger luggage items at home to speed up your entry into the CHI Health Center.

Yes, you should be able to bring your camera or video equipment to the CHI Health Center. Please and check the official visitor guide and consult security personel before taking photographs and recording audio as there could be a policy in place that prohibits this.

Unfortunately, it is not allowed to bring food or drinks into the CHI. During the bag control in the morning, security will ask you to throw your food away. Therefore, either make sure to consume your food and drinks while you wait in line, or better leave it at home.

You have the following options to get food in the CHI Health Center:

  • You can get free breakfast at stands at various locations on the concourse of the arena as well as in the exhibition hall and convention center. Packaged bakery products, nut bars, soda, orange juice, coffee, and a few other items are available.
  • You can purchase food and drinks during the AGM. A wide selection of offerings is available at several stands.
  • You will find a limited selection of food, like Dairy Queen ice cream, in the exhibition hall.
  • You can find some food vending machines in separate rooms near the entrances. They can offer an option to get snacks at a fair price.

The CHI itself is a cashless facility. So, please bring your credit card to pay at the stands in the CHI Health Center. However, you will need some cash to pay in the exhibition hall. So, please also have some $1 bills, for instance, if you consider buying from Dairy Queen in the exhibition hall.

You can draw cash from four different ATMs in the CHI Health Center.

💵 Bring some cash to the CHI Health Center to be able to purchase all products in the exhibition.

Finding a fulfilling food stand might be difficult if you are a food lover. You can always walk to other restaurants close to the AGM for lunch.

Many legends are being told about the “race for the best seats” on the morning of the Berkshire Hathaway AGM. Some shareholders are even “camping” at the CHI from 2 AM to get in line for the “best” seats.

This video recorded in 2024 will give you a feeling of how crowded the entrances of the Berkshire Hathaway Meeting 2026 could be in the morning:

More Information

To help you find you your seating strategy, I share my recommendations for different seating strategies here with you:

To identify your “best seats”, I recommend learning more about the venue first.

The CHI Health Center has different facilities. The Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting is held in the arena. The arena has the capacity for more than 19,000 visitors. To understand the arena design better, I recommend these resources:

  • You can learn more about the arena design with this seating map.
  • If you want to identify any seating areas to meet with friends, please consider using this seating scheme to find them.
  • To get a feel for the CHI Health Center as a first-time visitor, it is super helpful to take this virtual arena tour.

Aside from the 19,000 arena seats, extra seating for thousands of shareholders is available via additional overfill rooms, like the Peter Kiewit Grand Ballroom. There, you can watch the live stream of the meeting. The overfill rooms over more comfort due to better seats. Sitting for hours and listening to the Berkshire AGM 2026 is more leisurely in these rooms.

Your seat

It is best to arrive early to sit on or close to the stage. Early birds can park from 3:30 AM in the CHI Health Center parking lots. You should maintain your chances of getting a seat in a prime position if you arrive between 4:00 and 5:00 AM.

Waiting in line that early can be fun. I have heard of many friendships that were formed during the morning wait. It can make sense to bring a foldable camping chair and a blanket to make the wait comfortable in the morning’s cold. An umbrella or raincoat could also help in case it is raining.

🪑 The best seats might not be in the area in front of the stage. The areas 122-123 and 103-104 can have a better view of the stage.

You can arrive at 06:30 to 06:45 AM before the doors open if you are okay with not sitting on or close to the stage floor. You can speed up your entry by leaving your larger bag at home.

To sit with a group, aim for the upper ranks of the CHI. There, you should be able to find enough seats for a group, as most shareholders first head for the lower levels to be close to the stage.

My “strategy” is to arrive at around 6:30 to 6:45 AM. I always made it to get good seats at this arrival time. For me, there is no significant difference between the different seating areas. You can see the stage easily from every seat in the arena. The large screens and the excellent audio in the arena also help you to easily follow all the speakers words.

To share an additional inside look into the “race” for the best seats, I recorded my “run” in 2019:

The exhibition hall is a fantastic shopping opportunity. You can purchase products at the booths of many exhibitors on Friday and Saturday:

  • Friday: You can access the exhibition from noon until 5 PM. For instance, you can combine your exhibition visit with your pickup of Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting 2026 tickets at the will call. Shopping might be more fun on Friday as the exhibition is less crowded and all purchasable goods will still be available.
  • Saturday: The exhibition hall opens at 7 AM and closes at 4 PM. So, you can visit the exhibition at any time during the Berkshire Meeting 2065. Based on my experience, the exhibition will be more crowded the later the day.

Berkshire Hathaway offers a shipping service in the Exhibition Hall for (US-based) shareholders. You can find more details on this offer in the visitor’s guide.

I recommend using your travel luggage to bring your purchases from the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting 2026 to a country outside the US due to high shipping fees. Please plan with extra space in your luggage for your boxes of See’s Candies and your new investing books.

🧳 Avoid high shipping fees by planning in extra space in your travel luggage for your purchases.

You will have the chance to talk to a lot of the subsidiaries of Berkshire Hathaway at the exhibition. Many will also have parts of their management present. This will give you a chance to ask questions as a shareholder and to also do some research. The best time for research is Friday. On Saturday, you might risk missing management as they are listening to the Q&A in the arena.

Nebraska Furniture Mart

The everything store Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) offers special shareholder discounts in the weeks of the Berkshire Hathaway meeting.

  • The NFM Omaha location is worth visiting. It is located at 700 S 72nd St., Omaha, NE 68114. A great time to visit is after the AGM on Saturday. From 4:00 to 8:00 PM, the NFM holds the “NFM Berkshire Picnic” with the enjoyable Berkshire BBQ Meal Deal that costs $6. Limited shuttle buses will take you to the NFM. You can learn more about this offer in the visitor’s guide.
  • The NFM will have a booth in the Exhibition Hall. There, you can easily shop for a limited selection of special deals.

Shareholder discounts are available in all four NFM locations:

🫰🏻 The deals offered by NFM are often so attractive that you should consider doing larger purchases during your Omaha trip.

Books

Berkshire Hathaway will highly likely sell books in the exhibition. I will share more information about all available books soon.

These are the alternatives to purchasing books in Omaha:

  • The Bookworm store in Omaha: The Bookworm store is located at 2501 S 90th St. #111, Omaha, NE 68124. Shareholders with credentials can get 20% off on all book purchases. The discount is available from Thursday to Monday in the Berkshire Shareholder Meeting 2026 week. Furthermore, shareholders can meet authors for meet-and-greet events at The Bookworm during the AGM Saturday.
  • Hudson Booksellers at Omaha Airport: You have the chance to acquire Berkshire Hathaway related books at the several Hudson News booths at Omaha Airport. Sadly, the traditional book selling with authors will have to pause until 2028 as the airport undergoes a larger construction project. Therefore, the Hudson Booksellers store is closed until 2027, as the gallery is under construction until then.

I highly recommend purchasing these books to study Berkshire Hathaway:

Alex Morris’ Buffett and Munger Unscripted: Three Decades of Investment and Business Insights from the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder Meetings * is the best compilation to study Warren Buffett’s and Charlie Munger’s wisdom. Highly recommended!
