01

Why look at space stocks?

TL;DR: Cheaper launches, satellite constellations for internet and earth observation, and rising defence budgets have turned space into a growth industry. Many listed companies earn money with it.

Space Tech Expo Europe in Bremen is the largest trade fair for the European space supply chain. We went through the full exhibitor list of the 2026 edition (1,084 entries including agencies, clusters, universities and national pavilions) and added the exhibitors already confirmed for Space Tech Expo USA 2027 (192 entries). Then we matched the exhibitors to listed companies or their listed parent groups.

Explained

Who earns money with space?

A satellite needs a builder, a rocket, an operator and thousands of parts that survive radiation and vacuum. Builders such as OHB, MDA Space and Redwire make the spacecraft. Rocket Lab and INNOSPACE launch them. Operators such as SES and Viasat sell connectivity from orbit, and Astroscale cleans up after them. Behind them sit suppliers of radiation-tolerant chips, optics, solar cells, cables and test equipment.

Much of the money comes from governments: space agencies and, increasingly, defence ministries. Many of the young space companies are still loss-making and volatile, while the large primes and suppliers earn only a small part of their revenue in space. Several of the best-known names, such as SpaceX, ICEYE and Isar Aerospace, are not listed.

02

How we built this list

We read the complete exhibitor lists of Space Tech Expo Europe 2026 and Space Tech Expo USA 2027 (as published on November 1, 2026) and matched exhibitors to listed companies or listed parent groups. "Pure play" means space is the core business. Tickers were checked against market data in October 2026. The list is curated and may miss smaller listed exhibitors. Please tell us if you find one.
